Professional career

Me Laurie-Ann Laveau primarily practices in civil and commercial litigation and Indigenous law.
She was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 2023 and joined the firm in May 2022, initially as a law student, before completing her professional training internship there.

As a litigation attorney, her practice spans various areas including bankruptcy and insolvency law, civil liability, contractual disputes, construction law, professional liability, and disciplinary law. She also engages in extraordinary remedies, notably in injunctions, declaratory judgments, safeguard orders, and seizures.

Since entering the profession, Me Laveau, a member of the Huron-Wendat Nation, has focused on legal issues in Indigenous contexts. She works closely with Indigenous communities, assisting them in various areas, including matters related to ancestral rights, treaty rights, consultation, and governance.

During her time at Laval University, she was actively involved for three years in the Committee on Justice and Indigenous Issues, contributing to its establishment and promoting Indigenous issues and cultures within the Faculty of Law. She also served on various committees within the Faculty, highlighting the importance for legal professionals to understand the issues faced by Indigenous peoples in Canada. Additionally, she gained valuable experience in the legal services of Wendake, where she worked for a year.
