Me Julie Casaubon practises mainly in the field of Transport law. She joined the firm as a lawyer in 2021 after having worked for 6 years with one of the largest transport companies in Canada and for 6 years with the Quebec Trucking Association where her practice centered around litigation in both cases. Me Casaubon represents clients, both Canadian and foreign, made up mainly of road carriers. Me Casaubon advises and represents clients in regulatory compliance matters. She frequently appeared before the Court of Québec, Criminal and Penal Division, to resolve offences relating to driving a heavy vehicle under federal and provincial laws and regulations and she has in-depth knowledge of the laws and regulations governing the operations of carriers. In addition, she frequently intervenes with the authorities responsible for the application of laws and regulations, such as Contrôle Routier Québec and the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec. Thanks to her expertise in legislative and regulatory matters, the repositioning and registration of heavy vehicles is carried out efficiently and with a limited impact on transport movements during mergers, acquisitions and restructuring operations of corporations in the transport sector. Finally, she holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial relations and she also works with our team in Labour and Employment Law, where clients can benefit from her advice on good sectorial practices, in terms of drafting company policies, on the subject of provincial or federal jurisdiction of a corporation, relative to the hiring of professional drivers, the keeping of regulatory records, the management of drugs and alcohol and the disciplinary sanctions applicable to issues of security. |
